Central Air Conditioning Systems Have Come a Long, Long Way
And That’s All to Your Advantage.

willisA close ancestor to modern air conditioning systems  was first made in 1902 by an American engineer by the name of Willis Carrier. The machine at that time was called "Apparatus for Treating Air" and was built for the Sackett-Wilhelms Lithographing and Publishing Co. in Brooklyn, New York.

Later, Carrier began selling his invention to movie theater operators.  It first appeared at the Rivoli on Broadway in New York City in 1925.  Soon thereafter, air conditioners were installed in office buildings, department stores and railroad cars. The United States House of Representatives had air conditioners installed in 1928, with the Senate, White House and Supreme Court soon following suit.

They were big, they were noisy, and horribly inefficient.  Good thing for all of us, it’s no longer 1928.

Today, central air conditioning is as consumer friendly as it gets.  Highly efficient, built for added years of effective service, and with more optional features for your greater indoor comfort and healthy living.

At John’s Refrigeration, we have the experience, training, right equipment, and skill to give you everything today’s technology has to offer.

Today, for example, we install, maintain, and repair central air conditioning systems with energy efficiency ratings up to 95%...some even higher.

Equally important, we properly size your equipment to maximize its energy efficiency.  We also inspect your ducts, windows and doors for air leaks to help keep the cool air in, and the hot air out.  Expert installation is every bit as important as the equipment itself.

The Case for Ductless Air Systems.Mini-Splits
Ductless air systems (also known as “mini-splits”) are designed to reach from one to three rooms for your house, and are ideal for a sunroom, no room addition, and so on.   Like central air systems, these come with an outside condensing unit.  But instead of the cooled air entering your home through ducts, it comes through a wall-mounted vent.

These are the primary system benefits and features:
  • Much more energy efficient and attractive than window units…more secure, too!
  • Allow you to concentrate the cool air to one or more rooms vs. your whole house, depending on your particular needs.
  • You can buy a cooling system only, or one that provides both heating and cooling for even greater indoor air comfort and efficiency.
  • The units are completely programmable and operate by remote control.

It’s a Great Time to Buy.

If you’ve begun shopping for a new or replacement system, your timing couldn’t be better.  That’s because:

  • You can now qualify for a 30% federal tax credit (up to $1,500) when you purchase an Energy Star certified central air, ductless air, or heat pump system.  But you’ll want to act now, as this tax credit program expires on December 31, 2010.  Click here to read more.
  • You can also qualify for up to $1,725 in manufacturer and utility company rebates on qualifying equipment..

So make a little history of your own, and contact John’s today for a no-obligation quote on the best system for you, your home, and your budget.  And remember:  we offer you the added  convenience of system financing.
