Indoor Air Quality in Mesa, Gilbert, and Scottsdale
Breathe In, Breathe Out…With Ease with an Electrostatic Air Filter.
Hold up an ordinary air filter sided by side an electrostatic air filter, and they kind of look alike. But that’s where the similarities end.
The typical home center variety is a cheap, disposable filter made from cardboard and a fiberglass mesh. These filters are installed in cold air returns and HVAC air vents, and as air blows through them and out into homes and offices, airborne particles of dust and allergens get trapped in the web of fiberglass while cleaner air passes through.
Electrostatic filters, by contrast, have filtration media made from unique polyurethane and polypropylene blends. Unlike fiberglass media, these blends generate opposite charges of static electricity, which attract and hold airborne particles like a magnet.
Electrostatic air filters tend to hold onto particles so well that they will remain in the filter from the time they're caught until the time they're flushed out. These filters are designed to be reusable, so regular cleaning is important to maintain their effectiveness. Filter maintenance consists simply of removing the filter from the vent and vacuuming off the dusty side with the hose attachment on a v acuum cleaner. But if dirt and dust still remains after vacuuming, the filter can be flushed out with a hose and left to air dry. It is important, though, to spray the filter with water in the opposite direction as the air flow. Spraying in the same direction as the air flow will only drive the particles deeper into the f iltration media.
Our filters reduce pollen, dust, and airborne pollutants. What’s more, they’re:
