John’s Refrigeration Heating and Cooling takes a holistic, whole house approach toward optimizing how your home, duct system, A/C system, and insulation work together. We offer a Peak Performance Home Evaluation–a home energy audit–which assesses the whole house as a system, not just the A/C unit and ductwork. This energy audit is designed to provide you with the best solutions to lower utility bills and improve your home environment, including temperature comfort, indoor air quality, and safety.
After John’s has conducted this test on your home, you will have specific recommendations for improving your central air conditioning system efficiency. Ensuring that you have the right size system will help you to enjoy reduced energy bills. We’ll also make sure you have the proper insulation, effective air flow, and no leaks in your ducts – or anywhere else – that could allow cool or warm air to escape into the spaces in your home that don’t need it.
We perform a Duct Efficiency Test where we compare air in vs. air out. This tells us whether there is duct leakage, how much air the HVAC unit is delivering, and if your home has the proper duct size. We also test the leakage rate of your duct work. If more than 20% of the air moving through the system is leaking into spaces you do not want heated or cooled, we’ll seal them. Then we insulate your ducts to protect them from excessive heat and cold. John’s is authorized by both SRP and APS for duct testing and repair, which means that our customers may quality for rebates which will save you even more money.
The Peak Performance Home Evaluation home energy audit will also tell us where we can install dampers to make sure some rooms aren’t warmer or cooler than others. By optimizing the air flow throughout your air conditioning system with these actions, you are likely to see lower utility bills and be more comfortable in your home.
We’re confident you’ll choose John’s for the best in year-round indoor comfort.
